The company is based in the old fishing village of Staithes on the North York Moors National Park coast. Ing Properties Ltd is owned by husband and wife team Amanda and Kevin Ing, who have over 40 years of joint blue chip management experience in the sales, marketing, design and project management.
Prior to their relocation from Princes Risborough to Staithes in early 2004 Amanda and Kevin purchased two adjoining Staithes cottages and undertook ambitious renovation programmes on each. The result was their new Staithes home plus an adjoining holiday cottage, which under the banner Holiday.Ing proved to be very successful with 34 weeks annual lettings prior to its sale in summer 2007.
Amanda and Kevin’s personal experience of managing both an ambitious renovation project and a holiday cottage letting programme from a distance helped to form the basis of their business strategy. Kevin started to trade under the name Design.Ing and managed a number of large scale renovation projects in Staithes. As well as delivering areas such as damp courses, new bathrooms and kitchens, electrical work and interior/exterior decoration these projects also involved applying for planning permission to the North York Moors National Park Authority on behalf of clients, co-ordinating local contractors and ensuring that all jobs are completed to the highest standards on time and on budget - all key challenges for holiday cottage owners who live away from Staithes.
Kevin’s involvement in holiday cottage renovation projects allowed Amanda to select a number of high quality Staithes holiday cottages which were added to the Holiday.Ing portfolio. Her objective was to offer fully integrated holiday cottage property management and holiday cottage promotion service for clients. As Amanda and Kevin were based in Staithes this allowed them to offer a personal level of service not always available to both holiday cottage owners and clients alike. It allowed them to ensure that the highest standards of service were maintained at all times and deal quickly with any issues that occurred during lettings.
After three years of successful trading Amanda and Kevin amalgamated Design.Ing and Holiday.Ing to form Ing Properties Ltd in December 2007 and in March 2009 launched a brand new holiday cottage promotional website www.stayinstaithes.co.uk. With the personal level of service that they are able to provide Amanda and Kevin deliver both hassle free holiday cottage ownership and satisfied holiday guests, with a large number of regular visitors to all the cottages in their portfolio.
